These frequently-asked questions are intended for the applicants for Master of Auditing (MAud) Program sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) at Nanjing Audit University.
Application FAQs
1. What’s the process of online application?
Firstly, visit University website at http://apply.nausie.cucas.cn/, and make online application. After completion, you need to bring all relevant materials to business department of Chinese Embassy in your country to get their recommendation. The recommendation by the Embassy will be communicated to the University through the application system, and the University will make the final decision based on the recommendations.
2. Where can I get the Foreigner Physical Examination Form?

Note: This is a Standard Form for foreign visitors to apply Chinese visa and other related issues, please do not make any change or use other non-standard forms. The result of the examination will expire in six months. The expenses incurred from the physical examination shall be covered by yourself.
3. What should I do if my passport is going to expire within a short period?
It is recommended that passports used for applying the Program shall not expire in the next two years. DO NOT apply with the passports that will be shortly-expired, in such case, ONLY apply when you have the new passport at hand. If you are almost meeting the deadline for application, please write your passport number as “00000000”, we will notice the abnormal number and wait for your renewed passport number.
4. What kind of passport should I use for application?
Please use the ordinary passport for application. If you are using other passports, you will meet difficulties in the process of getting the JW202 Form (a required document for studying in China). Please do not try to ask if other passports are acceptable, because the answer is definitely “NO”. Any negative consequences resulting from using the wrong type of passport shall receive no cooperation from the university in the visa application process.
5. When is the deadline?
The recommended deadline is June 6th each year. We have to review the applications and decide whether we need to recommend potential candidates to relevant authorities.
6. What are the requirements of the recommendation letters?
It is required that each applicant need two recommendation letters. The academic recommendation letter is usually written by a professor from a university or a high-level professional in a related field. The other recommendation letter should be signed by the Auditor General (AG) of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of your country. Please note that electronic signatures is not acceptable.
7. I am a scholarship student, why do I get a JW202 Form?
Since 2024, MOFCOM students are required to use the JW202 Form. Using the JW202 Form doesn’t mean you are self-supported. MOFCOM provide full scholarships to MOFCOM students. MOFCOM students have to download the JW202 form according to the instructions in the email sent by the system.
8. How can I get the admission letter?
For MOFCOM students, you will receive an email notifying you that your JW202 Form is ready, after which you will write to cscmaud@nau.edu.cn requesting the admission notice. The admission notice is sent to you by the university staff. Therefore, it might take some time to reach out to you.
9. When will the admission result come out?
According to our experience, the admission results will come out around 15th of July.
10. What do we need to bring when we go to the embassy for visa application?
Admission notice and the JW202 Form. For other details of visa application, please consult the embassy.
11. Do I need a language proficiency certificate if I am from an English-speaking country?
There is no need to provide language proficiency certificate. Just remark (at the relevant step of online application)that you are from an English-speaking country.
12. I am from Myanmar, our country requires me to get the admission notice first, after which we will start the passport application process. What should I do?
When you make online application, fill in the passport number blank with “00000000”,and we will notice that you haven’t got a passport, and we will contact you once your admission notice is ready. Do NOT provide an expired passport number, or passports that will be shortly-expired.
13. Can we take paid job during the study period to support ourselves?
No. It is against the law in China for X1 or X2 visa, which are issued to international students who are not supposed to get paid jobs. You can do voluntary work here without payment if you like.
14. Are we provided with free airfare?
For MOFCOM students, the international airfare is included in the scholarship. In addition to the airfare for your first trip to China at registration and the trip to go back to your country at graduation, each student is provided with a round-trip air ticket to home country during the study. The other trips are supposed to be self-supported.
15. How should I write my name?
Please write your full name as shown in the passport. In the application system, you will see SURNAME and GIVEN NAME are separated. Please avoid mistakes in names, or you will be creating trouble for yourself.
16. I am forty-five years old. Is it possible for me to apply?
No. The candidates must be under 45 before September 1st of the year.
17. Will I study Chinese language? Is it compulsory?
Yes. You will study the Chinese language as part of your course (HSK1 to HSK3). It is compulsory but fun. You will be required to pass the HSK 3 exam, which is a must for degree conferring.
18. How do I access healthcare?
You can visit the campus Healthcare facility or the local hospital in Nanjing for healthcare services. The program provides 800 RMB yuan insurance specifically for foreigners in China. The policy of reimbursement will be introduced to you after your arrival in China.
