Audit Study Tour in Shandong Province

    From May 7-9, 62 international students from 26 countries in the Master of Audit Program of Nanjing Audit University went to Weifang, Shandong Province to carry out an audit study tour. This activity is also one of the Perceive China series of activities organized by China Scholarship Council, with the theme With Agricultural and Rural Audit as Media, Telling Truthful Chinese Stories.

    On the afternoon of May 7th, the opening ceremony of the study tour of the international students in Shandong Province was held in Weifang. Jiang Haiying, Director General of International Cooperation Department of China National Audit Office , Zhang Xiaofeng,  Director of Shandong Provincial Audit Office, and Liu Yun, Secretary of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee were present at the ceremony. Yu Anping, Deputy Secretary of Nanjing Audit University Party Committee, presided over the ceremony.

    Zhang Xiaofeng, on behalf of Shandong Provincial Audit Office, welcomed the arrival of the international students. He introduced the practical achievements of agricultural and rural audit in Shandong Province, encouraged the international students to actively exchange, and learn from each other through the window of audit to understand Shandong and China, so as to contribute to deepening friendship and cooperation between countries.

    Liu Yun introduced the economic and social development of Weifang City and the history of Weifang audit culture. He hoped that the international students could fully appreciate the unique glamour of Weifang culture, appreciate the beauty of modern agriculture, and actively tell the story of Weifang, spread the voice of Weifang, and become the friendship envoys to enhance cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

    Yu Anping stressed that President Xi Jinping had given important instructions to Shandong to build the Shandong model of rural revitalization, and twice affirmed the Zhucheng Model, Weifang Model and Shouguang Model. He hoped that the international students would treasure this opportunity to study and practice, exchange and learn more from their Chinese counterparts through the study tour, and have a more concrete and truthful understanding of China.

    Eric from Rwanda, speaking as a representative of the international students, mentioned that after coming to China, he has learned a lot of practical knowledge and skills in audit. He said that he would strive to become an ambassador of Sino-foreign friendship and contribute to a better future.

    On the evening of May 8, International Cooperation Department of CNAO held a discussion on the implementation of the Master of Audit Program and the organization of audit study tours. Director General Jiang Haiying attended the meeting and spoke cordially with international students.

    The organizing committee of the event also arranged several workshops on agricultural and rural audit, and auditors at the provincial and municipal levels introduced and shared many audit cases.

     Di Yuanxiao, Director of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Department of Shandong Provincial Audit Office, shared the vivid audit case of Application of Geographic Information and Drone Technology in High-standard Field Audit. Sun Zuzhao, Director of Weifang Municipal Audit Bureau shared the audit case of Research and Application of Underwater Acoustic Survey Technology in Marine Ranch Audit. The two cases showcased the application of three models in three rural issues.

    Representatives from the audit bureaus of Qingzhou, Zhucheng, Shouguang and Anqiu cities also shared their working experiences in applying the Zhucheng Model, Weifang Model and Shouguang Model to agricultural and rural development, and answered questions raised by the international students in detail.

    The international students said that the tour gave them a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China's modern agricultural and rural economy and audit practice, and provided valuable experience and enlightenment for their future study and research. In this process, students can use the agricultural audit as the medium to deeply understand the vivid and truthful Chinese stories.

    Hendru, an international student from Indonesia, said, “audit is not only a tool for supervision, but also a key to ensure the healthy development of rural economy. This study tour allowed me to see China's advanced experience in the field of agricultural audit, which has provided a great model for my country's agricultural development.”

    Paula, from Samoa, marvels at the charm of IT audit: From Shouguang to Zhucheng, I saw the great potential of China's agriculture and the key role that audit plays in it. The combination of science and technology and audit provides a strong support for the modernization and efficient management of agriculture. Several vivid audit cases have accumulated valuable experience in the audit.

    With the support of China National Audit Office, Nanjing Audit University will continue to organize more audit study tours to help the international students better understand China's economy and audit development and to build a more convenient bridge for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges and cooperation. The university will spare no effort to build a good brand of Audit Program for International Students, and actively contribute to the internationalization of audit cause of China.
