为了丰富留学生寒假生活，1月29日，留学生院为全体假期留校学生组织了迎新年传统民俗活动，引导留学生利用中国传统健身功法强身健体，并与留学生一起编制中国结、贴福字装饰留学生院，迎接新年。
In order to enrich the winter vacation life of the international students, on January 29th, School of International Students organized a special New Year activity for all students who stayed on campus during the holiday. They taught the international students to use traditional Chinese fitness exercises to strengthen their bodies, made Chinese knots together with the international students, and decorated the teaching building with “FU” character to welcome the New Year.
八段锦
八段锦是中国传统医学的瑰宝，共有八节，动作似锦之柔而优美，练习无需器械，不受场地局限，简单易学，节省时间，作用极其显著。谢艺老师带领留学生们在留学生院的平台上刻苦练习，留学生们表现出了浓厚的兴趣，表示将在学习之余多多锻炼，做到劳逸结合。
The Ba Duan Jin exercise is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture, consisting of eight sections. Its movements are as gentle and beautiful as a brocade, and it does not require any equipment or space for practice. It is simple and easy to learn, saves time, and has an extremely significant effect. Lisa Xie taught the international students to practice Ba Duan Jin exercise diligently on the platform of the teaching building. The students showed a strong interest in it and expressed that they would exercise more in their spare time to achieve a balance between work and rest.
中国结
中国结是一种手工编织工艺品，其外观对称精致，符合中国传统装饰的习俗和审美观念，不仅造型优美、色彩多样，并且传达了热烈浓郁的美好祝福。丁燕卿老师带领留学生们制作了寓意“好事成双”的双钱结和中国传统服饰必备的纽扣结。留学生们被这红丝绿线缠绕成的艺术作品感到震撼，跃跃欲试。
The Chinese knot is a handmade handicraft with a symmetrical and exquisite appearance, which conforms to the customs and aesthetic concepts of traditional Chinese decoration. It not only has a beautiful shape and diverse colors, but also conveys warm and rich blessings. Frank Ding taught the international students to make “double coin knots” with the meaning of “good things come in pairs” and button knots that are essential for traditional Chinese clothes. The international students were shocked to see the knots intertwined with red and green lines and were eager to try making this kind of art works by themselves.
迎春接福
迎春接福是中国传统年俗，为了帮助留学生们体验中国年俗，留学生院专门购置了春联、福字、挂件等，向他们介绍了这些物件的意义，并让他们亲自体验这个过程。在留学生们的共同努力下，留学生院被装扮得年味十足。
Welcoming the Spring Festival and receiving blessings is a traditional Chinese New Year custom. In order to help the international students experience the Chinese New Year customs, School of International Students purchased Spring Festival couplets, “FU” characters, and some other ornament items for them. They not only introduced the meanings of these items to them, but also let them experience this process in person. With the joint efforts of international students, the teaching building was decorated with a festive atmosphere.
本次活动得到了江苏教育报刊总社等新闻媒体的关注，在活动过程中进行了采访。留学生们看到装饰之后的学院一下子变了样，也感到非常开心，深刻体会到了中国人对农历新年的重视以及他们对新的一年的美好愿景与期许。
This event received attention from news media such as Jiangsu Education Press and Publication Corporation, and interviews were conducted during the event. The international students saw that the place took on a brand-new look and felt very happy. They deeply realized that the Chinese people attached great importance to the Lunar New Year and they all had beautiful visions and expectations for the coming year.
