NAU Opens New International Student Education Practice Base

In order further implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s letter reply to the international students of Auditing Master (MAud) Program, Nanjing Audit University attaches great importance to the establishment of education practice bases for international students. On January 12th, 2024, the opening ceremony of Nanjing Audit University International Student Education Practice Base at Jiangbei New Area Central Business District was held, with the presence of Professor Li Qianwen, vice president of Nanjing Audit University, Ge Xiaoyong, deputy director of Central Business District, and Liang Jia, deputy dean of School of International Students. The faculty of School of International Students and 49 international students from 20 countries witnessed this event.


Firstly, The international students visited Jiangbei New Area Planning Exhibition Hall, where they experienced the full play of the development advantages of the “dual zone juxtaposition” of the national level new area and the free trade pilot zone in Jiangbei New Area. They are also impressed by the advanced construction philosophy of “ecological livability, green transportation, intensive utilization, and combined development”.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Secondly, they visited the construction site of Urban Underground Space, where they were shown the currently largest individual underground space in China. They showed great enthusiasm in its planning philosophy to take human activities as the core, traffic as the key, building as the carrier, and municipal administration as the basis, and to integrate the transferring network of multiple interweaving metro lines connecting commercial and municipal facilities.

 

 

 

 

 

Thereafter, The Opening Ceremony was held at the meeting room of the Administration Office of Jiangbei New Area Central Business District. Li Qianwen and Ge Xiaoyong unveiled the plate of the international education practice base. 

 

Deputy Director of CBD Ge Xiaoyong introduced the general situation of Central Business District in aspects of new industries, talent policy and international cooperation and exchange, with an emphasis on the efforts to construct “four major highlands” in new finance, including “digital finance, sci-tech finance, green finance, and cross-border finance”, and the increasing demand for composite international professionals in these emerging fields. He hoped to explore an international cooperation model with Nanjing Audit University, focusing on providing higher quality educational resources and practice platforms for international students. He hoped to deepen collaboration with the university in areas such as Industry-University-Research (IUR) Partnership, innovation and entrepreneurship for overseas talents, and the digitization of corporate auditing, thus promoting the high-quality development of the region.

 

 

Vice President of NAU Li Qianwen expressed the willingness to share educational resources with the Central Business District, promote the construction of international student educational practice base, and jointly promote international cooperation. He required the international students to do the following:

1. Cherish every opportunity to know about and understand China, and gain a deep understanding of the model of modern urban construction in China via field trips;

2. Value every opportunity for learning, practice, and innovative thinking, record what they have seen and heard, actively provide feedbacks, and creatively apply “Chinese Wisdom” to the construction of their own country;

3. Seize every opportunity to perceive culture and engage in friendly exchanges, tell a more vivid “Chinese story”, and contribute to deepening friendship between countries and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

 

Finally, the international students had a heated discussion with the leaders and staff from Central Business District. They expressed their wish to learn the advanced philosophy of modern urban planning, which they would bring back to their own countries so that they could contribute more to the development of their countries and the revitalization of the nation.
